On Saturday the 13th
we sent a engine and a crew to Golden's Bridge to stand-by for
them for their 100th Anniversary parade. The guys answered
1 alarm during the stand-by for an EMS assist. The
stand-by lasted form 3 in the afternoon until midnight.(more)
On Saturday the 30th
Dan Brophy, Nat Longo, Alex Morales, and Tom Radocaj became the
newest Interior Firefighters for the Continental Village Fire
Dept. when they completed their NYS Firefighter I and
Firefighter Survival courses at the Westchester County Training
Center. The course started back in April and ran two
nights a week with full days on Saturdays.

On Saturday the 23rd the
Continental Village Fire Dept was operating at a PIAA on the Bear
Mountain Bridge Road When it got dispatched for a person who jumped
/ fell of a cliff just down the road. Units immediately
responded from the first scene a found the victim at the bottom of a
30 to 40 foot cliff. The patient was observed to be alert with
"altered mental status" and sitting on the ground.
Peekskill Fire Departments rope rescue team was immediately called
in to assist with the High angle rescue.

On Saturday the 23rd the
Continental Village Fire Dept was dispatched to the Bear Mountain
Bridge Road in the area of the lookout for a PIAA rollover with
possible extrication. Upon arrival a vehicle was discovered
off the road sitting on its side with no one inside. The fire
Department State Police did a search of the near by woods but could
not locate the driver of the vehicle.

On Saturday the 23rd the
Continental Village Fire Dept participated in a mutual-aid drill
with the Garrison Fire Dept. at St. Christopher's Inn in Graymoor.
The Villages engine was the second due engine in the drill with our
manpower stretching and operating a secondary hand line, while our
engine supplied Garrison's first due engine.
