Late Saturday afternoon Continental Village firefighters responded to a reported brush fire along Route 9 just south of Jack Rd. When units arrived on scene they found that the fire had been put out by residents in the area and had not spread far. Firefighters on Engine 232 stretched a line and wet the area down to make sure the fire was completely out. Units reoped and returned to servive around 5:15
