On Sunday night at around 9:30PM the Continental Village Fire Department was dispatched to Camp Smith for a reported brush fire. When units arrived on scene they found a 200 x 50 foot area burning about 500 feet from the road. Units quickly went to work to extinguish the stubborn fire that was located in a steep rocky area. Utility 142 set up a drafting operation from a nearby pond and fed forestry handlines as well as Camp Smith's firefighting ATV with water. Units returned to service at around 1:30 in the morning.
