On Monday afternoon the Continental Village Fire Department along with Peekskill Ambulance Corp were dispatched to Route 9 and Roa Hook Road for a reported MVA with extrication needed.  When Units arrived on scene they found that a tractor trailer had collided with a van pinning the driver of the van in his vehicle.  The Tractor Trailer then crossed the median and crashed into the woods.  The medic on scene immediately called for a medivac helicopter for the heavily pinned driver who had suffered serious injuries as well as additional ambulances and medics.  The IC requested Peekskill Fire respond with an engine to set up the landing zone in the parking lot of the table 9 restaurant and requested their rescue to respond to the scene to assist with the extrication.  Firefighters from both Continental Village and Peekskill worked together to complete the complex extrication in about 20 min. and the patient was then loaded into an ambulance and transported to the landing zone where he was flown to Westchester medical center.  Two other patients were taken to Hudson Valley hospital for treatment.  Fire units cleared the scene after the vehicles were removed from the roadway.
