On Thursday night, members from CVFD were presented with our annual awards for our Top Responders and Firefighter of the Year. On top of that, members who were present at the fatal motor vehicle accident with extrication on December 15th were awarded with a Unit Citation award and a Meritorious Service Award.

Firefighter of the Year was awarded to:

Firefighter Shevon Dixon

Top Responders was awarded to:

1: Firefighter Brian Sullivan with 191 Calls

2: Deputy Chief Craig Stilwell with 163 Calls

3: Firefighter Shevon Dixon with 113 Calls

4: Firefighter Ernie Hongach with 106 Calls

5: Fire Police Lieutenant Louis Mettey with 84 Calls

6: Firefighter Thomas Scolpini with 75 Calls

7: Firefighter Nicholas Ferranti with 65 Calls

8: Deputy Chief Christopher Rimm with 63 Calls

9: Deputy Chief Scott Young with 58 Calls

10: Firefighter Luke Monteleone with 56 Calls

Congratulations to our Firefighter of the Year and our Top Responders. We’re appreciative of all of them and proud!

Members on scene of the fatal MVA with extrication on December 15th were also awarded with a Unit Citation award for being on scene of the incident and a Meritorious Award for members who were part of the extrication team.

Members awarded with the Unit Citation award were:

- Assistant Chief Joseph Maffettone
- Fire Police Lieutenant Louis Mettey
- Firefighter Nicholas Ferranti
- Deputy Chief Craig Stilwell
- Deputy Chief Glen Gilligan
- Firefighter Tobi Akbas

Members awarded with the Meritorious Service award were:

- Captain Justin Loja
- Deputy Chief Christopher Rimm
- Firefighter Thomas Scolpini

We’re proud of all the members present on the scene of this call and the members involved with the extrication, all did a job well done and we’re proud for everyone’s dedication and hard work.
