On Friday night The Continental Village Fire Department announced its Firefighter & Junior Firefighter Of The Year Award recipients. This years Firefighter Of The Year Award went to Richard Cardenas for being one of the departments top responders for the year, as well as displaying outstanding service to the Fire Department and community. Firefighter Cardenas has been a dedicated member of the department since August of 2013. This years Jr Firefighter of the year award went to Rich's son Cooper Cardenas who was the departments top responding member under the age of 18. Junior Firefighter Cardenas has been a member since November of 2012. This is Cooper's second year in a row winning this award.
