On Tuesday afternoon the Continental Village Fire Department was dispatched to Sprout Brook Road for a report of a large brush fire. Firefighters responded quickly with a Brush Truck and Engine and were advised by Putnam 911 that the sheriffs deputy on scene was reporting that the fire was moving rapidly up the hillside. At this point Putnam Valley was requested to the scene mutual-aid with a Brush Truck and Tanker. Once on scene firefighters from both departments quickly went to work containing the fire and then extinguishing hot spots. Garrisons Tanker was also requested for additional water.
