On Friday night around 2330 hours the Continental Village Fire Department was dispatched along with Yorktown Fire Department Dive Team, Peekskill Volunteer Ambulance Corps. and the Cortlandt Peekskill Paramedics to the Bear Mountain Bridge and Route 9D for a jumper down. Prior to arrival 60 Control advised Car 2132 which had command that the person was approximately 50 feet down on the side of the bridge on land so Car 2132 then requested West Point with their technical rescue team as well as Fort Montgomery Fire Department with manpower for assistance and had Yorktown’s dive team stand down being that the person was on land and asked for their technical rescue team instead. While Yorktown was setting up their ropes and devices patient care was made and the patient was stable enough to be walked up on a backboard. We would like to that the Yorktown Fire Department, Fort Montgomery Fire Department, West Point Fire Department, Peekskill Volunteer Ambulance Corps., New York State Police and the New York State Park Police for a job well done.
