Structure Fire, Sprout Brook Road

February 23, 2021

On Tuesday morning at around 5AM the Continental Village FD was dispatched to Sprout Brook Road for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival units found a well involved working structure fire and were met with a 300' steep snow and ice covered driveway. Units were forced to hand stretch 2.5" and 3" lines from the road to the front of the house to attack the fire and feed 1 3/4 handlines. Due to heavy fire throughout the residence units were forced to take a defensive approach as the roof quickly caved in followed by exterior walls. Tankers were called in to supplement the hydrant system due to the heavy volume of water needed. Fire units operated until around 2PM overhauling and hitting hot spots. We would like to thank all of our mutual aid companies for their help.
