Structure Fire, Dogwood Road

August 23, 2021

On Monday afternoon the Continental Village Fire Department was dispatched to a residence on Dogwood road for a reported Structure Fire. While en route units were updated that the occupant was still in the residence, this information was confirmed by Car 2131 upon his arrival on scene and with the help of PD they were able to get the occupant out of the residence. Car 2131 also requested a 10-75 assignment for a working structure fire which brought engines from Peekskill FD, Montrose VA FD, to the scene along with Putnam Valley FAST, Buchanan's cascade, and Peekskill Ambulance. Garrison FD was initial put on standby but were quickly requested to the scene with and engine when initial units were met with overly cluttered conditions inside the residence which severely hampered efforts to find the seat of the fire. Due to the conditions the fire became very labor intensive and addition FASTs were called in from Mohegan & Yorktown. North Highlands FD relocated and engine to CVFD's firehouse for standby. During their standby North Highlands handled two MVAs for CVFD, one on the Bear Mt Bridge Road and a second one on the Bear Mt Bridge. Units cleared the scene at around 7:30PM.

We would like to extend our thanks to all of our Mutual Aid companies for their help at this challenging fire.
