On Tuesday night Firefighters trained on vertical ventilation using the roof simulator. Firefighters were broken into groups of two, rotating through positions on the saw and the pike pole. The Firefighter on the saw used the Cutters Edge to practice a “coffin cut” utilizing the 7,9,8 cut sequence. The Firefighter on the Pike Pole sounded the roof, punched out the decking and ceiling, and acted as a guide to ensure the safety of both members on the roof.
