On Friday, 4/14, the Continental Village Fire Department was called by West Haverstraw to help fight a large area Brush Fire in the area of Route 9W. Officials had blamed sparks from a CSX freight train that passed through the county for being at least partly responsible for the fires. CVFD crews assisted in multiple locations along Route 9W in Rockland County with a Brush Truck MA4 w/ manpower and Car 2132.
