On Friday night around 10:30pm, CVFD was dispatched for our Brush truck and ATV to go mutual aid to Garrison FD who was operating at a large area brush fire. Members from CVFD met with various other departments and hiked down into the woods all together to be met with fire covering about 20+ Acres. All crews worked on creating a fire line to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading any further, due to the difficulties of being able to get water down to the fire scene. After a few hours crews were pulled out from the woods and would reconvene the following day to continue fighting the fire. CVFD was back in service around 1am.
