On Monday around noon, CVFD was requested to respond mutual aid with our Tanker to Port Chester, operating a 3+ alarm structure fire. Due to water supply issues, Tankers from throughout Westchester County and even Connecticut were requested to the scene to aid with water supply. Tanker units were requested to New Broad St. to dump water into the pool crews had set up. Then Tankers would refill and return to the dump site. Crews from various other departments repeated this cycle to supply the units at the fire scene with a continuous water source. Once pressure had returned to the hydrants, Tanker operations were halted and then all tankers were released from the scene. CVFD was back in service at approximately 4pm.
