Wires Down With Brush Fire, Roa Hook Road

On Thursday afternoon, the Continental Village Fire Department responded to Roa Hook Road following a report of downed wires with an active fire. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that a fallen tree had struck power lines, causing them to break and ignite a brush fire. Con Edison was called to the scene to disconnect power. Once the electricity was safely turned off, firefighters extinguished the brush fire and then turned the scene over to Con Edison before returning to service.
