Rope Rescue Drill |
| July 7, 2026 | |
| On Tuesday evening, July 7th, firefighters participated in a rope rescue training exercise led by Firefighter Cardenas. Members reviewed the fundamentals of building a secure anchor system and operating a brake rack descent device to lower firefighters and a Stokes basket to a simulated patient. The drill also covered transitioning to a Z-rig mechanical advantage haul system to efficiently raise the patient and rescuers back to safety. To add realism, the evolution was conducted in a confined area to simulate the challenging conditions that could be encountered during a rescue along Bear Mountain Bridge Road. Regular training on specialized rope rescue techniques ensures our members remain proficient and prepared to respond safely and effectively to rope rescue incidents. |
