On Tuesday night at 9:21 p.m., the Continental Village Fire Department, along with Cortlandt-Peekskill Paramedics and the Peekskill Community Volunteer Ambulance Corps, was dispatched to Annsville Circle for an overturned tractor-trailer with no entrapment. Car 2131, operated by Chief Maffettone, arrived on scene shortly after dispatch, determined there were no injuries, and canceled all EMS units.

Upon assessing the scene, it was found that the trailer had tipped over onto its side while the truck remained upright and undamaged. Additional units responded, and crews primarily assisted with traffic control alongside New York State Police while awaiting a heavy wrecker tow truck.

When the wrecker arrived, crews began setting up to recover the fallen trailer. During this operation, a malfunction in the equipment caused a spill of more than 20 gallons of hydraulic fluid onto the roadway. Firefighters responded quickly, applying absorbent material and oil booms to contain the spill and prevent it from spreading.

Once the spill was contained, personnel from the towing company began repairs to restore the wrecker to working order. Fire units remained on site to assist with traffic control and oversee the continued removal of the trailer. After the trailer was successfully removed, all responding units cleared the scene, and the roadway was reopened.

The Continental Village Fire Department returned to service around 4 a.m.
