On Wednesday morning at around 9:40 AM the Garrison & Continental Village Fire Departments were dispatched along with Garrison Ambulance and Putnam County Sheriffs Deputies to Route 9 in the area of Route 403 for a reported motor vehicle accident with injuries. When the first unit arrived on scene they found a box truck had struck a telephone pole head-on snapping the pole in two places and causing the truck to rollover. The driver was transported by Garrison Ambulance to Hudson Valley Hospital. Central Hudson Electric was called to the scene to remove the telephone pole from the road and secure all the hanging wires. Fire units kept Route 9 closed until the truck was removed at around 12 noon.
