On Sunday, in the early evening hours, the Continental Village Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a fire in the wall of a structure. Garrison Fire and Putnam Valley Fire were also dispatched to standby in their quarters as a precaution. On arrival, first-due firefighters entered the structure and discovered a smoldering light switch in the dinning area. After opening the surrounding wall and using a thermal imaging camera to check for further fire extension, firefighters vented the house of smoke and waited for Central Hudson to arrive in order to shut off the power to the house.
