Search & Rescue Drill

On Tuesday night firefighters went over Search and Rescue techniques for a primary search. Firefighters started the drill by reviewing the tools that can be used to help with Search and Rescue. Officers first walked-through the drill to explain primary search objectives and best practices. Structure Fire, Radio Terrace

On Monday morning, while operating at an MVA prior, Continental Village Fire Department, along with Putnam Valley FAST and Garrison on standby in quarters, was dispatched to Radio Terrace for a reported structure fire. Car 2131 and Engine 231 diverted from the MVA on Sprout Brook Road to the scene of the reported fire. Upon arrival Car 2131 had heavy smoke from a building towards the back of the property ... MVA Rollover, Sprout Brook Road

On Monday morning the Continental Village Fire Department was dispatched to Sprout Brook Road for a reported MVA rollover with possible entrapment. Upon arrival units found a dump truck on its side with an entrapped occupant. Firefighters used the window saws to open up the front window to extricate the driver. Fuel Spill, Route 9 Mobile Station

On Wednesday night the Continental Village Fire Department was dispatched to the Mobile Gas station on the Route 9 Traffic Circle for a report of a fuel spill. On arrival, 14-1-2 confirmed that approximately 20 gallons of diesel fuel had been spilled from an unattended pump filling a pickup truck.
