Rope Rescue Drill

On Tuesday evening, July 7th, firefighters participated in a rope rescue training exercise led by Firefighter Cardenas. Members reviewed the fundamentals of building a secure anchor system and operating a brake rack descent device to lower firefighters and a Stokes basket to a simulated patient.

MVA With Injuries, Route 9
June 28
On Sunday evening at approximately 5 PM, the Continental Village and Garrison Fire Departments, along with Garrison Volunteer Ambulance Corps, were dispatched to Route 9 near Morgan Court for a reported motor vehicle accident involving injuries, a fallen tree, and downed telephone poles. Wires Down With Brush Fire, Roa Hook Road
June 18
On Thursday afternoon, the Continental Village Fire Department responded to Roa Hook Road following a report of downed wires with an active fire. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that a fallen tree had struck power lines, causing them to break and ignite a brush fire. Con Edison was called to the scene to disconnect power.
