March 4, 2017

On Saturday morning the Continental Village Fire Department was dispatched along with Peekskill Ambulance to the Annsville Creek for a reported car submerged in the water. Upon arrival units found only the roof was visable above the water line. Yorktown's dive team was then immediately requested mutual-aid along with Peekskill Fire Department due to the best access being from their fire district. Firefighters donned dry-suits and immediately deployed into the water to see if there were any occupants in the vehicle. After determining that the vehicle was empty, firefighters exited the water and awaited a tow company. Yorktown's dive team was then deployed to assist the tow company with hooking up the vehicle for removal. Once the vehicle was removed, the scene was turned over to Peeksksill Police department for further investigation. Firefighters were on scene for approximately three hours.
