On Wednesday morning at around 1:30 AM The Continental Village Fire Department was dispatched for a Reported Structure Fire on Dogwood Road. A 10-75 was requested bringing mutual aid companies to the scene before the apparatus left the fire house due to multiple calls for a well involved fire. Upon arrival Firefighters found a 2 story residence with heavy fire showing on the Charlie side. Firefighters from Continental Village and Peekskill made an aggressive attack through a door on the Delta side of the structure and were met with heavy fire conditions on the first and second floor. Firefighters however were forced to exit the structure and switch to an exterior attack after being unable to make it to the second floor due to a compromised stairway. A Ladder truck was requested from Verplanck FD to assist with extinguishment and overhaul of the structure. Firefighters returned to service around 6 AM. We would like to thank all the mutual Aid Departments who assisted on the scene and stood by to cover our district.
