This is past Sunday, May 5th 2024, members of Continental Village Fire Department and Peekskill Community Volunteer Ambulance Corp. Each planned and partook in a UTV training up in the Old Campgrounds off of Sprout Brook Road. Members from each department took turns rotating people and training on driving operations of the vehicle and drove through different trails/paths and got adjusted to operating the vehicle and limitations it holds and environments it performs well in. These vehicles are important in events of lost/injured hikers, brush fire operations, or even rehab services to aid those who may be going to work during a brush fire. This is just the start of training with these tools, each department will continue to perform future trainings with one another and continue to train on more operations and how to benefit one another.
**We would like to give a HUGE thank you to Westchester Land Trust for giving us the opportunity, and time, to utilize their property for us to perform this training on. Please show support to them and their efforts for all future projects they have ongoing. We hope the best for them and cannot wait to collaborate with them on more future trainings.** . . . Interested in joining? We, at CVFD, are always looking for new members! This is a 100% volunteer department and no training is necessary to join! We provide all in-house training and even cover any costs for official classroom training!
