| On Tuesday night, February 3, members of the CVFD visited locations throughout the community to assist residents who were unable to clear snow from fire hydrants. NYS strongly urges all residents who are able to safely do so to clear at least three feet of snow from all sides of hydrants. This helps ensure that hydrants are easily visible and accessible in the event of an emergency.
For residents who are unable to clear hydrants due to any personal reasons, CVFD members stepped in to help. Firefighters inspected hydrants around the community and shoveled snow where needed to make sure each hydrant was accessible.
This effort not only supported residents who could not clear the hydrants themselves, but also helped ensure the preparedness of the department and the safety of the community. CVFD thanks all members who participated in this operation, especially given the cold temperatures, and appreciates their commitment to serving the community. |
